Chaffcutter Books is producing a growing portfolio of quality historical maritime titles, most featuring previously unpublished archive material and the recollections of seafarers past and present.

We specialise in the history of the sailing barge, but far from exclusively so, with many a steamer or motor ship gracing the pages of certain of our books.

We now designate certain titles as ‘Heirloom’ editions indicating a particularly unique or rare book, some of which are numbered limited editions, others just a bit special in other ways.

Chaffcutter also market the maritime books of other publishers, in particular the excellent publications of the Society for Sailing Barge Research.
